Pre-Booking Frequently Asked Questions

Pre-Booking Frequently Asked Questions

There has been a significant increase in the number of people who use the Ride Access Pass system, which has resulted in longer wait times for those who need this adjustment. To address this, we have reviewed feedback from guests and consulted with accessibility experts, as well as looked at what is working at other attractions, to find a more fit-for-purpose alternative. The pre-booking reservation system was introduced to help manage the flow of visitors and to ensure queuing time is kept to a minimum, so our guests have the most magical and seamless experience with their loved ones.

Ahead of their visit, guests with a RAP must pre-book their RAP reservation at their chosen attraction. The pre-booking portal can be accessed here:

Alton Towers Resort

Thorpe Park Resort

LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort

Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Pre-booking your RAP reservation will help us to continue to manage our attraction capacities, to keep queuing time to a minimum, and ensure we deliver the most magical days out possible for all our guests.

It’s really easy, just head to our RAP Pre-Booking Portal and follow the instructions.

RAP users can book up to 3 pre-books at any time, per attraction, on a rolling basis.

For instance, you could have x3 THORPE PARK Resort, x3 Alton Towers, x3 LEGOLAND Windsor RAP reservations at one time. Once you’ve used one reservation, you can pre-book another.

A Merlin Ride Access Pass is valid for 3 years from the date of issue and is valid for use by the guest named and photographed on the card.

Yes you can! If your plans change and you are visiting Alton Towers Resort or Thorpe Park Resort, simply log back into the booking portal and select a new date to move your reservation. If you are visiting Chessington World Of Adventures Resort or LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, please contact the site Customer Service teams who will amend your booking. This means another RAP user will have the chance to use this reservation and nobody will miss out.

For guests Under 3 years, you must still pre-book if they have a RAP themselves or are accompanying the RAP user. This is really easy and follows the same process as the adults.

Yes, even with a hotel booking, RAP users will still be required to pre-book their reservation to the attractions.

If there is availability left at the time of arrival, guests will be able to pre-book on the spot and start using the Ride Access Pass system immediately. If there is no availability, guests will not be able to use their RAP and will be advised to use the main queue. Our teams will be on hand to discuss queuing options and top tips on how to avoid long queues on the day of your visit.

No. The pre-booking portal is primarily used for our Resort Theme Parks across the UK. For Midway attractions, if you have any questions ahead of your visit, please contact the guest services team.

Unfortunately, we can only permit a maximum of three companions at a time to accompany a guest with a disability onto a chosen ride or attraction.

RAP and fast-track are two different things. We provide a Ride Access Pass free of charge to guests who, due to the nature of their condition or ride infrastructure, have difficulty queuing. The objective of the RAP is to reduce the waiting time in queue lines for guests who would not be able to access the rides without this adjustment. It is not designed to provide a fast track or a facility to skip the queue.

There has been a significant demand for the Ride Access Pass system, which has resulted in longer wait times for those who need this adjustment. To address this, we have reviewed feedback from guests and consulted with accessibility experts, as well as looked at what is working at other attractions, to find a more fit-for-purpose alternative.

Advance registration will help us to manage on-the-day experience for our guests, to ensure that where the pass is being used by those who need it, we are reducing on the day queuing by those who have a RAP and overall helping all of our guests to enjoy the best possible experience at our theme parks. Fast-track is a paid-for add-on to our tickets, which offers shorter waiting times at some of our biggest rides and attractions.

Unfortunately, we can only permit a maximum of 3 Ride Access Pass reservations at one time as we are committed to creating inclusive experiences for all of our guests who wish to use the RAP system. RAP users can book up to 3 pre-books at any time, per attraction, on a rolling basis. Once you’ve used one reservation, you can pre-book another.

The new Ride Access Pass pre-booking system is for main rides within the theme park, not the theme park itself. Guests wishing to visit Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND Windsor, Chessington World of Adventures Resort and Thorpe Park will still be able to book admission tickets as normal.

The pre-booking reservation system has been introduced to help manage the flow of visitors and to ensure queuing time is kept to a minimum. With this in mind, there will be daily allocated RAP reservations in line with Resort capacity. If there is no availability for your chosen date, please keep an eye out as there may be more availability in the future.

Guests will not receive a confirmation email once they have pre booked their ride access pass reservation. Please simply log in to the Ride Access Pass system via rideaccesspass.co.uk on the day of your booked visit and redeem your Ride Access Pass entitlement.

Please contact the Guest Excellence team directly who will be able to advise further.
